I stayed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. The service was excellent — everyone was incredibly kind and attentive at all times. The location is great, with several subway stations very close by. It’s perfect for solo travelers; I felt safe walking around at night. They have a terrace with a spectacular view. The room I stayed in was small, but it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our Christmas stay at the Penny Williamsburg. The staff were super accommodating and kind to our family, and the in-house snack and meal options suited our exact needs. The building itself is so so cool. The room itself met our needs, and the staff did an excellent job of tidying our rooms and leaving fresh towels daily. We recommend allocating more time between guests to thoroughly clean the headboard and bed frame/side table, as we found dust, and there were noticeable scuff marks on the floor (we left our shoes in the entryway during our stay). We also recommend that someone check the showers, as we had a good amount of water coming out from the bottom of the doors. We mitigated that quite a bit by pointing the shower head more inwards and placing a rolled-up towel on the floor. The fabric towel hook outside the bathroom is cool, but we hesitated to use it because of the potential for bacterial retention in the fibers. If there had been a wipeable metal version/more metal bath hooks, we would've opted for that instead. The location was PERFECT. We were two blocks away from the Bedford & 7th station, parked our car on the street for most of our stay, and had plenty of local places to shop and eat at. The neighborhood was incredibly homey, especially with the church’s holiday lights across the street. We will definitely stay at the Penny again.

I have found my favorite stay in Brooklyn! My boyfriend and I spent a peaceful, snowy long weekend at The Penny. We fell in love with the whimsical design, friendly service, furry neighbors, and all around comfort. The room was the perfect size for the two of us and larger than other rooms I’ve booked in the city. We sleep like babies in the cozy, clean bed. The bathroom was small but functional. The shower was warm with great water pressure, a big shower head, a detachable wand, and luxurious toiletries. We especially enjoyed the big striped robes. The kitchenette complete with coffee, mini fridge, sink, microwave, caraffe, and mugs and glasses came in handy and made it feel like home. Add in just enough closet space, stretching supplies (yoga mat, block, and roller), a small bench seat and round table, lots of hooks, plenty of outlets, and a small night stand and we couldn’t ask for more for a short trip! Finally, the design of the room was beyond charming. We loved the childlike, fun art and warm lighting. It felt more like your coolest friends apartment than a hotel. Bonus! I loved browsing the fun coffee table books on NYC. A big thank you to the staff! Every person we encountered was kind and helpful. The Williamsburg location was perfect! Just two blocks to the L train. We loved the feel of the neighborhood and hardly left. So many yummy eats, cool bars, vintage shops, and city views are a short walk away. It was such a treat to walk the peaceful snowed in streets. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was for the city! We found it to be the perfect balance of close to everything while feeling homey and calm. I can’t wait to be back! Maybe I’ll bring my doggies next time :) Ps, the rooftop bar has delicious cocktails and dreamy skyline views!

We had our wedding guests stay at The Penny, and it was a smashing success!! In addition to the absolutely stunning rooms with a bohemian aesthetic, The Penny was extremely gracious and accommodating. They let us take our first look photographs and video on the balcony and all over the hotel, including in the marvelously cinematic elevator. Linze and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful to work with. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the design and comfort of the rooms. It was a wonderful experience. We cannot recommend this gorgeous place enough!

The sleeper queen room was spacious for NYC and the pull out twin bed was relatively comfortable - no metal bars felt through the mattress and topper, but there was a dip that I sunk into at night. The queen bed was comfortable for my mother. Hot water was plentiful for showers. The nights were quiet - my room at The Penny looked out over 8th St at a church with no crazy sirens or similar noises at odd hours. There was a market and deli around the corner with great breakfast options at a reasonable price and multiple coffee shops in walking distance. El Nico on the rooftop was great for drinks and appetizers, the Kellogg Diner was close by with a large and varied menu, as was a wonderful Italian restaurant. Plenty of food and drink nearby. We were very happy with the hotel and location for our trip and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Had an amazing time staying at the Penny, the FOH team were super helpful throughout. I was looking to extend my stay, but the Hotel was fully booked, they kept me informed every day about room availability and booked me on as soon as something became available. The rooms are quirky and practical, I loved having a little kitchenette. The hotel being dog-friendly means you sometimes get to meet some four-legged friends in the lobby/ lift! Cannot wait to return.

This is a fantastic hotel to stay at if you want to be in Brooklyn. The service is exceptional and the rooms are full of cool pictures and art that really makes it stand out versus other hotels. It also has a bar and overlook of Brooklyn on the rooftop, and it is just around the corner from some good restaurants and grocery stores. The only difficult thing with the whole area is parking, but there is a loading spot to allow you to bring your gear up to your room that is right in front of the door.

Lus (lous) was there for us at check in and was so sweet, professional, and accommodating. We arrived early just to drop off our bags expecting to have to come back to check in and she got us in right away to our room, changed the whole day for us and saved so much time. The rooms and decor are adorable as well, we love it. Thank you to the entire team here for a great experience!
